Do you have a favorite perk or benefit of working at Mines? Summer flexibility. I’ve used my summers to do research work, and most recently take a group of students to Paris to learn thermodynamics.
What is your one piece of advice for someone interested in working at Mines? 2020欧洲杯正规平台Don’t think twice about it and try to make your application competitive. Seriously, this is an amazing place to work. If you find a position here that matches your credentials, go for it.
Why did you initially apply to work at Mines? I attended Mines as a student and loved the community. It was my first choice of where to work out of graduate school and 10 years later, I’m still ecstatic to be here.

Best part of your workday? Interacting with the students, faculty and staff. Working with people to help them with their technology.
Favorite perk or benefit? I get to meet people from all over the world and experience different cultures through the students, faculty and staff. They bring the world to me and I also get to see our country through their eyes.
One piece of advice for someone interested in working at Mines? Be prepared to flexible. In higher education, there is a wide range of systems that make a challenging and rewarding environment.
Why did you initially apply to work at Mines? I saw the opportunity and knew about Mines’ great reputation and I really wanted to be a part of that.

Best part of your workday? The team atmosphere and positive outlook. I work in the MAPS office and if a co-worker is overwhelmed, we are encouraged to step up and help. I have not run into anyone with a “that’s not my job” attitude and this makes a positive environment that I look forward to coming to each day.
Do you have a favorite perk or benefit of working at Mines? 2020欧洲杯正规平台The time off during the holidays. I have always loved the Christmas season and to be able to relax and enjoy family time for the week between Christmas and New Year’s was on unexpected and truly appreciated perk.
One piece of advice for someone interested in working at Mines?2020欧洲杯正规平台 Visit campus ahead of time. Walking around campus will get you familiar with where the buildings are and get a feeling of the atmosphere on campus. As I walked around, I was pleasantly surprised how many people greeted me on campus.
Why did you initially apply to work at Mines? Initially because of the reputation of Mines in the community. Then after my first interview, everyone I met on campus was so nice and welcoming during my visit. I could feel the family environment on campus.

What is the best part of your workday? I love office hours when students have good questions.
Do you have a favorite perk or benefit of working at Mines?2020欧洲杯正规平台 I really like being able to stretch my legs and walk to downtown Golden for the restaurants, or to buy a treat to bring home, or maybe to pick something up at a store.
What is your one piece of advice for someone interested in working at Mines? You shouldn’t hesitate to ask people for help or how to do things here. I’ve always found everyone incredibly helpful at Mines.

Best part of your workday? I can honestly say I love coming to work at Mines each day; the students never cease to amaze me! The interaction with Mines’ students makes my job interesting, rewarding and joyful.
Favorite perk or benefit? I am fortunate enough to have views of Lookout Mountain and the famous Golden Buttes when I come to work. Scenery in different seasons around Mines is amazing! In addition to these, 2020欧洲杯正规平台Golden is a rich historical town with many hidden gems awaiting to explore.

Why did you initially apply to work at Mines? While Colorado School of Mines is well known for its research rankings, the resources this institution invest to maintain the highest standards of undergraduate engineering training is remarkable. This unique educational environment at Mines is a tradition and the administration is careful to protect it. Mines supports collaborative interactions among faculty across disciplines that bring together students from various backgrounds and departments in a meaningful way. This is what really drew me to Mines as a faculty member.
